Meet the Co-founders of PulseMedica: Nir Katchinskiy and Eric Martin

CEO & Co-founder

Nir Katchinskiy, Ph.D

Nir has a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering and is an expert in developing and applying femtosecond laser technology in human tissue. He has designed and developed a methodology for imaging and treating vitreoretinal conditions and continues to drive the exceptional progress of innovation at PulseMedica.

Eric Martin, BScN, RN, MBA

Eric has a diverse background as a RN, MBA, Organization Change Management professional and Executive Coach. Eric as a trusted clinician leader, coach and strategist, leads high impact and expansive business developments through supporting the growth of people, processes, and innovation.

CTO

Thas Yuwaraj, Ph.D

Thas is a seasoned healthcare and data science leader with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. He has experience leading medical device development from concept to commercialization. He brings a holistic approach to product development, leveraging his experience leading engineering, regulatory, quality and IP teams.

Our Story

PulseMedica's Founding Story

In 2014, Nir's groundbreaking research on age-related macular degeneration (AMD) using femtosecond lasers showed promising results. This led him to develop a methodology for imaging and treating various vitreoretinal eye conditions.

In 2020, Eric Martin, while pursuing his MBA, was working with startups at Creative Destruction Lab - Rockies (CDL-R). This is when Eric crossed paths with Nir, a fellow participant in the CDL-R cohort.

United by their commitment to aiding individuals with eye diseases and their complementary skills, Nir and Eric co-founded PusleMedica with invaluable guidance from CDL-R mentors.
